KATE CAMERON
Award Winning Producer & Multimedia Journalist

Welcome!

My name is Kate, and I'm an Emmy Award winning producer, writer, booker, and social media strategist - with a deep passion for storytelling and a keen interest in current events and history. My journey began as a Communications and Media Arts major at Montclair State University, where I graduated in June of 2021 with a B.A. in Communication and Media Arts. I then joined NJPBS as a Research Production Assistant for the 21 Film Series, a 21- episode series of short films and county snapshots focusing on life, health, and available resources for those living in this diverse state. The 21 Film Series was awarded an Emmy at the 67th Annual NATAS Emmy Awards in the category Magazine Program Special. I recently started a new role as an Associate Video Producer with the New Jersey Assembly Majority Office, where I am responsible for filming and creating video content weekly and providing communications needs to district offices. Beyond my work in media, I have a passion for dancing, singing, photography, reading, and watching documentaries.

21 FILM SERIES
The 21 film series, inspired by the documentary series STATES OF AMERICA created by Brad Barber, explores one person’s story in each of the 21 NJ Counties, examining the factors and social determinants that affect each person’s quality of life.

My responsibilities included finding unique guests, conducting pre-interviews, and traveling to all 21 counties.

PRODUCING WORK
#FOCUSDEMOCRACY
As we live through the most divisive and historical periods in American politics, I was able to lead the creation of an hour-long Election show and focus on key issues such as racial injustice, Covid-19 relief, climate change, and the power and influence of the younger generation.
